Short Summary - Our Policies & Procedures

Nothing is more important to us than the safety and happiness of your child. This guide explains, in simple language, how we protect and care for children & staff every day.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Nailah Ahmad, Manager and Deputy DSL is Stephanie Monk, Deputy Manager. The Safeguarding Trustee Lead is Nathan Aspinall.

Emergencies

  • Fire drills are practised regularly so children know what to do.

  • Emergency closures (e.g. severe weather or illness) are rare, but you’ll always be contacted directly.

For you: We’re fully prepared, though closures only happen if absolutely necessary.

Behaviour & Relationships

  • We model kindness, respect, and fairness.

  • Children are supported with encouragement, never shaming or punishment.

  • Parents and staff work together with openness and respect.
For you: A calm, caring environment where children learn positive behaviour..

Learning & Inclusion

  • Every child is valued and supported to reach their potential.

  • Extra help is provided early, with clear plans agreed with parents.

  • We work closely with schools and professionals to support transitions.

For you: If your child needs extra help, we’ll be by your side every step of the way.

Safeguarding & Safety

All staff are trained to notice and act if something doesn’t feel right.

  • Children are always supervised by DBS-checked, qualified staff.

  • If a child is unwell, missing, or not collected, clear procedures keep them safe until parents arrive.

For you: Your child is always protected, listened to, and cared for.

Valuing Diversity & Promoting Equality

At Evergrove, every child and family is valued.

  • We celebrate differences, remove barriers to learning, and create a safe, inclusive space where children thrive.

For you: Your child is respected, supported, and always included.

Health & Wellbeing

Daily checks keep the building safe and clean.

  • Accidents are recorded and shared the same day.

  • Illnesses and allergies are managed carefully with clear plans.

  • Healthy food and snacks are provided, and lunches from home must be balanced and nut-free.

For you: A healthy, hygienic setting where your child’s needs are respected.

Our Team

Every adult is carefully checked, trained, and supported before working with children.

  • Each child has a key person to help them settle, build friendships, and feel secure.

  • Students may support play but are never left alone with children.
For you: You’ll always know who is caring for your child.

Records & Privacy

  • We keep secure records about children and only share information when necessary or by law.

  • Parents can ask to see their child’s records at any time.

  • We work in partnership with health, safeguarding, and SEND professionals when needed.

For you: Your family’s privacy is always respected.
